I have been composing music since I was young. Mostly for piano, but also some chamber music. My style is somewhat introverted and quirky. In 2018 I self-published a series of piano compositions under the title Journeys. Now I am working on reorganizing the pieces into a new collection. Here is an example piano piece you may like.

My first career was as a classroom language teacher. After teaching Chinese language for 5 years, I also co-wrote a series of (Mandarin) Chinese textbooks, culminating in preparing students for the Chinese GCSE (a UK secondary school qualification). The series sought to fill a gap in the Chinese textbook market for a thorough, approachable, and comprehensive course. The series is currently distributed by UK-based Link Chinese here.

For seven years, I co-ran a video production company which focused on producing videos for non-profit organizations doing good work in the New Haven area of Connecticut. We worked especially with schools, local government, and philanthropic foundations.

I created a web-based beading design app for designing projects with seed beads and perler beads. The app aims to be easy to learn but powerful and fully-featured.
